Bettie was not an obsession of mine, as much as she was the candle burning in the pitch black nights of my darker days. After I was divorced, her smile and her pictures reminded me of just how nice a woman can make you feel. Her smile and her persona that was captured in her photos, could cheer me up even on the worst of my days. Now, I am married again and have a wonderful wife and family and I still can't help feeling happy when I look at Bettie.
The passing of Bettie Page on December 11, 2008 of course has brought me great sadness that she is no longer with us. She was a true living legend, and inspiration for women, a woman that ahead of her years, and the true “Queen of Pinups”. I would say that she will be missed, and for some I am sure that is true, but I will still see her every day just as I first did and as she intended for us to see her. She is, as she was when I first discovered her, immortalized as her photos have made her. Thank You Bettie!
